Backyard Putting Green Meets Desert Landscaping in Henderson

Most Henderson homeowners think they have to choose - either a functional outdoor feature like a putting green, or a well-designed landscape. This yard proves you don't have to pick one over the other. We worked with Elisabeth to plan out both her front and backyard with that exact goal in mind.

The backyard was the centerpiece. We installed a curved artificial turf putting green that runs the length of the side yard, fitting naturally against the existing patio and pergola structure. The curves weren't just for looks - they let us work with the shape of the space instead of fighting it. Desert rock borders the turf on both sides, with low-water plants like fan palms tucked in along the wall. The result is a usable putting surface that actually feels like part of the yard, not something dropped into it.

Beyond the putting green, we added a stepping stone path through the back with desert gravel and drought-tolerant plants - clean, low-maintenance, and built for the Nevada climate. Updated irrigation ties it all together so the plants stay healthy without wasting water.

Out front, we went a different direction. A natural river rock dry streambed runs through the front yard as the visual anchor. It handles drainage, adds texture, and gives the whole design a polished look with zero upkeep. Flowering desert plants add color along the edges, keeping it bright without needing much attention.

Henderson and the broader Las Vegas area is a great place for this kind of full-yard design work. Water-smart landscaping paired with functional features like putting greens is exactly what a lot of homeowners here are looking for.
