This front yard started as a thick, thirsty lawn that needed constant mowing, watering, and maintenance. The homeowner wanted something cleaner, easier, and better suited for the Las Vegas climate, so we converted the grass through the SNWA Water Smart Landscape Rebate Program.

We removed the existing lawn and created a new layout built around function and curb appeal. At the entry, we installed a warm paver courtyard that gives the home a welcoming seating and gathering area instead of unused grass. A curved planter wall adds structure and height through the middle of the yard and helps define the new plant beds.

For the landscape, we used a mix of desert friendly plants that stay attractive while using a fraction of the water. Around them, we blended decorative river rock with larger boulder style rock to add texture, color, and contrast. The rock is not just for looks. It is an important part of a drought tolerant design that helps control weeds, protect the soil, and reduce water use all year.

By completing this conversion, the homeowner now qualifies for the SNWA rebate and will save thousands of gallons of water every year. They traded weekly yard work for a clean, low maintenance front yard that fits the Las Vegas desert and still feels inviting and finished.

If you are thinking about a grass conversion, this project is a great example of how you can upgrade your curb appeal and take advantage of the SNWA program at the same time.
